Plein Air Photographic Prize - closed for 2010

This is the winning photo for the 2010 Plein Air Prize. It was taken by Peter Solness a Sydney based photographer. You'll definitely want to have a look at his website which has some amazing night-time photography. You can also see a larger version of his winning photo and the story of how he took it ... at 1am in mud up to his knees! Now that's devotion to your art.

This competition  is associated with the NSW Parliament and is about photographing the NSW landscape. Anyone who is a permanent resident of Australia can enter. Keep an eye on the website to see when it opens in 2011.

Deadline: The 2010 deadline was 30 July.

This is an acquisitive prize, which means that the purchase of your image is part of the award. The first prize is $10,000 followed by $5,000 for second and then $3,000. A non-acquisitive prize of  $2,000 was also offered in 2010.

If your photo doesn't win, you can have it sent back by including an envelope and postage.
