Weather Calendar Photo Competition

Who'd have thought the weather would have its own calendar? In fact there are several photo competitions inviting photographers to send in their photos of unusual and spectacular weather events.

I have the Australian Bureau of Meteorology Weather Calendar on my wall and it's full of astounding images. My tip is, don't worry if you're not a professional or experienced photographer - just keep an eye out for that amazing cloud formation, sunset, storm, or even an image of ice crystals forming on a leaf, because it could be a winning entry.

Both of these competitions run each year, so even if you miss a deadline, you can start taking weather photos ready for next year's photo competition.

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has produced a photographic weather calendar since 1985.
